Munich, Feb 9, IRNA - Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani was forced to cancel his attendance at this weekend's 43 rd Munich security conference as a result of an illness, an informed source told IRNA in Munich on Friday.
Larijani was due to give a speech at the Munich meeting on Sunday on security in the Middle East and he was also scheduled to meet with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The high-profile conference will feature high-ranking international political leaders among them Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chancellor Angela Merkel, European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana, US Defense Secretary Robert Gates and NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
Some 270 political and military representatives as well as experts from 39 countries are scheduled to discuss pressing global issues like the situation in the Near and Mideast, international terrorism, the future political and military role of the EU and NATO as well as energy security.
