Bita Daryabari, founder and President of Unique Zan
Foundation in Menlo Park , CA , who is passionate about education,
health, and economic opportunities for women throughout the world, has
established the “Bita Daryabari Scholarship for Women in Economics”.
The scholarship will be granted to Persian-speaking women who have been
admitted to an economics PhD program in one of the twenty of the
highly-respected institutions, including Harvard University , University of
Chicago , University of California-Berkeley , Stanford University , and MIT.
Says Daryabari "I am committed to helping women establish themselves in
positions of leadership and be role models to other women."
This scholarship is an
attempt at bridging the gender gap among the Persian-speaking population in the
economics profession. The scholarship will enable women to leverage their
talents and cultivate the skills necessary to pursue a career in economic
