Rezaei: U.S. is after deploying the Baath party members in Iraq

TEHRAN, Jan.2 (ISNA)-Iran's Expediency Council secretary, Mohsen Rezaei stated that the U.S. believe deploying the Baath party members in Iraq after Saddam's execution is harmless, because there's no longer a possibility that Saddam would join them.

"It is natural that limiting Iraq's relationship with Iran is a priority in the U.S. policies. Also the U.S. will definitely restrict Iraq's relationships with Syria support advocators who are mostly in disguise in Iraq," said Rezaei while referring to the U.S. security policies in Iraq.

When asked by ISNA reporter that what would the possible alternatives of the U.S. to compensate those who are favor of Iran or Syria, while 70 percent of the present Iraqi state was in friendly terms with Iran, Rezaei responded that the U.S. alternatives were from the Baath's regime.

"Of course a Saddam deducted Baath's group," he added.

"The U.S. is after deploying the Baath party members on an extensive plane in the long run. It is also possible that they would program future changes in the present state. Most probably they will change the legal and authority structure in the present composition. They may change the constitution and state-parliament transactions to deploy the Baath party members and the previous state executives," he went on to say while noting that in the present Iraqi state composition was majored by Shiites.

"The U.S. feels the need of Sunni cooperation before the extensive and intense presence of the Shiites and Kurds. All this is while all Sunni administrators have been present in Saddam's state and the Baath party," he said.

"The U.S. is not capable of disintegrating Iraq. Turkey, Syria and Saudi Arabia are not in favor of a disintegrated Iraq. They will oppose any possible U.S. attempt. Moreover, disintegration of Iraq could endanger the U.S. situation. There's a possibility that the Northern Kurd settlers region and the Shiites in the South would instantly enter a transaction with Iran. On the other hand, the third region, the Sunni settlers also do not offer a clear perspective of their cooperation with the U.S.," he commented.

"Therefore the U.S. is trying to exercise its will by deploying anti Iranian administrators like the Baath party members and previous state officials to reign over Iraq," he concluded.
