This concert
celebrates the leap of faith as the perpetual condition of the human
heart in its quest for union with the Divine Heart, and therefore with all
humanity. The foundation of Persian Classical Music is Sufism, an ancient
spiritual path to God through the Practice of Love. The humanitarian view of
Sufism finds powerful expression through the music of Lian Ensemble, and through
Persian mystical poets such as Rumi, Attar and Nurbakhsh. Lian Ensemble welcomes
the listener to the communion of the unity of Love, which bonds us all to God
and to each other, transcending all religious, cultural and national
boundaries.
