Managua, Jan 15, IRNA-Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega said on Sunday said the Iranian and Nicaraguan nations are united in their struggle for justice and peace.
During a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, he said the visit to Nicaragua of the Iranian president shows the link that brings the two revolutionary nations and friends to work for a common cause.
Their defense of their sovereign status is also a defense of the legal rights of their two nations for progress, he said, adding that it is also a way of defending the solidarity of their two nations.
"We are here to reach constructive agreements and to find ways to end hunger, poverty and unemployment," Ortega said.
He expressed hope the Iranian president's visit will lead to the signing of more agreements on expansion of bilateral cooperation.
Ahmadinejad, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in the Nicaraguan capital Managua Sunday morning on the second leg of a three-nation tour of Latin America.
The Iranian president was officially seen off by Ortega when he left the country hours later.
He arrived in Quito, Ecuador, Sunday night on the last leg of his three-nation Latin American tour.
