TEHRAN, June 30 (Mehr News Agency) - Iran's youth side finished runner-up in an international judo tournament in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, Friday.
Iran snatched two gold and three bronze medals while South Korea stole the show with three golds and the third title went to Mongolia with one gold medal.
Iran has been drawn with Malaysia, Uzbekistan, and China in Group C.
The Asian competitions will be co-hosted by Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam from July 7-29.
The Iranian side celebrated the spot by a 2-0 victory over Japan in Bandar Abbas, the capital of southern Iranian province of Hormuzgan.
Pakistan had already qualified for the world meet.
Striker Gholamreza Enayati hit his double in the 12th and 27th minutes, midfielder Javad Nekunam converted a penalty kick on 15 minutes, and Hadi Aqili headed home five minutes into second half to help Iran past the visitor.
Iran, which is getting ready for the Asian Cup, will take on Jamaica in another friendly here Sunday.
