July 5, 2007, RFE/RL -- Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka says cooperation with Iran has been developing effectively in all sectors, and in accordance with international law.

Speaking today in Minsk to Iran's defense minister, Mostafa Mohammad Najar, Lukashenka also had praise for the two countries' military-technical cooperation.
Najar said Belarus has a "special place" in Iran's foreign policy. Iran and Belarus, which both face international isolation, have expanded bilateral ties in recent years.
