Almaty, July 7, IRNA - Iran took the silver medal in Sabre fencing competition at the Asian Youth Championship in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Friday night.

The Iranian team, composed of Soheil Khavandi, Mehdi Seran, Shahabeddin Miri and Massoud Fotouhi, stood at the second position.

The gold medal went to South Korea while the host Kazakhstan and Kuwait jointly received the bronze medal.

The 7th round of the fencing competition of the Asian Youth Championship started in Almaty on Monday in presence of 23 teams.

The competitions will last until Sunday.
