TEHRAN, July 10 (Mehr News Agency) - Iran disposed of Japan with a 3-1 victory at the FIVB Men's Junior Championship in Casablanca, a seaport in northwestern Morocco, Tuesday.
The Iranian side won the first set 25-22, but Japan fought back and made it 1-1 with a 25-21 win in Pool A.
Powered by powerful players, Iran retook the lead as it emerged the winner in the third set with a 25-18 result and celebrated the victory over Nippon by extracting a 31-29 win in the fourth set.
Iran had already defeated Bulgaria and Italy 3-0 and 3-2 and conceded a 2-3 loss to Cuba in its third match.
With seven points, the Iranian team takes on Morocco Wednesday.
