TEHRAN, July 15 (ISNA)-Iran's foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki met and discussed mutual interests with his Bahraini foreign minister, Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Al Khalifa. In this meeting Mottaki emphasized on Iran's will to expand ties with regional and especially Persian Gulf countries.
"Both sides should apply all their potentials so to expand the existing bilateral ties."
Also in a joint press conference with his Bahraini counterpart, Mottaki said Tehran and Manama fully respected the two countries' national sovereignty, solidarity and territorial integrity.
"Allegations by some media or some people's statements in both countries are in contrast with the two sides' clear policies and are not acceptable," he added.
Referring to the will of both countries to boost economic, political and security ties, Mottaki said, "A joint economic committee lead by Iranian and Bahraini foreign ministers will be held after (the holy) month of Ramadan."
On his part, Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad al-Khalifa, stated that currently the two countries' relations were sincere, brotherly and friendly while adding that all the ambiguities were removed after Saturday's meeting with Manouchehr Mottaki.
"We hope bilateral relations improve," he said.
