The first biennial exhibition of clothing and textile design has opened in Tehran with the aim of presenting and promoting Iranian-Islamic outfits.
Tehran's Museum of Contemporary Arts will be hosting the 15-day event as of July 24, 2007, CHTN news agency reported.
Director of Tehran's Museum of Contemporary Art announced that the exhibition showcase Iran's potentials in the production of beautiful outfits, bearing all Islamic features and values.
Habibollah Sadeqi also announced, "Over one thousand works were sent to the museum, from which 400 have been chosen to go on display".
Workshops of clothing and textile designing will also be held on the sidelines of the exhibition, the director added.
According to Sadeqi, this is an opportunity to present works of Iranian designers along with a collection of ethnic outfits from around the country, familiarizing the visitors with fashion in ancient Iran.
