Taliya News - Iran has entered a new era of mobile communications with the number of operators getting licenses to develop new services that could lead to another seven million people using portable phone.
As 20 million subscribers are using cell phones in Iran, the amount of penetration of cell phone is about 24 percent. Experts expect the market to expand to 27 million subscribers.
With a lower price and similar technology, the competition was injected into the telecom industries and, as a mater of fact, telecom operators. Therefore, using similar technology helped the cellular subsidiaries, Irancell and Taliya, to have more users than Telecommunication Company of Iran. These cellular subsidiaries offer all the services to the users who live in 1016 cities.
The advertisements enable a significant growth in Irancell. However, the cessation of the MMS service has lowered the demands.
Telecommunication Company of Iran driving down prices of mobile phone and offering presents to reach a significant expansion, which is predicted to be about 1 to 2 million users.
Taliya is the only operator which is beaten so hard since 600 thousand users use its services, while it was supposed to offer its services to about 2 million people. Although it welcomed the opportunity that came to it as a first cellular subsidiary, some financial problems prevented the deputies to offer all the services they like. Taliya would get the opportunity to have more than 500 thousand users in the other towns this year.
Auction third operator has reached its highest level since different companies which are from overseas, especially the United Arab Emirates Company, have requested to take part in an auction. The number of cell phones would increase and competition would stimulate buoyant market growth. After privatizing, customers demand better services so that technology needs to be changed rapidly to cope with their needs. Apart from technology, after-sales services are becoming more important. Therefore, some companies should think about manufacturing the handsets which would be required in a near future. However, it is impossible since three factories- Madiran, Iran Telecommunication Companies and a Shirazi factory- are manufacturing handsets now, which is insufficient as the number of users increase every day.
