Larijani: We are ready to answer all the IAEA questions

TEHRAN, July 28 (ISNA)-Iran's supreme national security council secretary in a news conference regarding the probable sanction against Iran stated that those after this sanction were only adding to the fire of dispute between the two sides of Iran's nuclear issue.

When asked about the reason behind the other sides escape from the negotiation table, Larijani answered, "Those who escape the negotiation table have political and other aims, other than solving this issue through peaceful and logical ways."

He regarding the planned visit of IAEA inspectors from Iran's Arak heavy water facility stated that every thing was according to what had been announced and planned.

"We are ready to answer all of the agency's questions and remove all ambiguities."

Larijani concerning the International Atomic Energy Agency General Secretary's "Time-out" proposal said that the time-out proposed by Mohamed ElBaradei was different form suspension of uranium enrichment.

"ElBaradei's theory concerns a recess in confrontation and remains at the current stage."

Larijani recalled suspension of uranium enrichment three years ago saying, "The last time we accepted the proposal of the European troika for suspension of uranium enrichment it lasted two years instead of a few weeks."

"But after that period, they offered us a plan which in fact was nothing."

He also criticized the western powers for double standard citing allegation of U.S. undersecretary of state John D. Negroponte that Iran would have nuclear weapons by 2015.

"It is ridiculous they took us to the Security Council alleging that we will have a bomb by 2015, whereas, nuclear arms has no place in Iranian defense doctrine."
