Iran: Telecommunication Company predicts phone trade boom

Taliya News - Telecommunication Company will continue to grow at fifty percent in a near future, and it will reach 2.6 million consumers in upcoming 6 months, says the public relations of Telecommunication Company in a report.

TCI had 22.901 million fixed line customers during July, while its cellular subscribers stood at 17.789 million. The number of fixed line subscribers will be about 26.658 million in upcoming six months, while its cellular subscribers will stand at about 20.389 million. It will reach 36 million in 1388, as the amount of penetration will be about 50 percent. The amount of penetration of fixed line subscribers is 32 percent in Iran now.

Installing 10 thousand BTS lead the telecom presidents to achieve greater success as phones are accessible in one thousand and sixteen cities now; moreover, it has widen the geographical reach of users.

All of the customers are using SMS service, while only 261 thousand people use VNS.

International roaming is also a major area for development as Iran extended its telecommunication relation with 80 countries.

The company offered its services to 51 717 villages, and two thousand and 446 offices has been launched to connect the country-dwellers to other cities or countries.

274 universities and 459 schools are connected to Internet, 9856 banks which needed the fast connection to internet were offered.

The access layer of fiber also extends into about 37 thousand kilometer.

The number of booths is increasing rapidly as it is going to be 217.696 thousand in upcoming six months.

The capacity of receiving and sending data is about 8 thousand and 76 megabit which is going to have 6 thousand more.
