TEHRAN, June 01 (ISNA)-Iran's foreign strategic council chief stated that if the U.S. was honest and truly wanted to solve problems in Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran was ready to continue its negotiations with that country.

"As all Iranian officials have noted up to now the Baghdad talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the U.S. were because of Iraq," said Kamal Kharazi.

"What we did in these talks was each side stated its stance and its conditions, but if the U.S. is honest in its way and truly wants to return security to Iraq then we are ready to continue these talks," explained Iran former foreign minister.
