TEHRAN, June. 02 (ISNA)-Iran and Syria are ready to aid the U.S. if that country was truly after creating peace and stability in Iraq, announced Iran's foreign minister along side his Syrian counterpart.

Manoucher Mottaki in a shared news conference with Walid Muallem held in Damascus said that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria shared many similar viewpoints regarding establishing security in the region and therefore were ready to aid the U.S. if that country was truly after creating peace and stability in Iraq.

"We both believe that the region's problems can only be solved through the efforts of the region itself; we emphasize on the importance of foreign forces withdrawal from the region, because we recognize this issue as a reason behind the region's insecurity," he said.
