Sari, Mazandaran Province, June 6, IRNA - The governor general of northern Mazandaran province said in the provincial capital of Sari that Iran's Government welcomes foreign investment in all fields.
Aboutaleb Shafaghat speaking in a meeting with a group of Italian businessmen and investors said ground has been paved for activities of all investors within the frameworks of the country's laws and international regulations.
He added, Mazandaran officials due to the need of the province to make progress have made appropriate planning for presence of foreign investors.
Elaborating on the capabilities and potentials of Mazandaran province, Shafaghat added, "The province is very conducive for tourism industry given its industrial capacities and human resources."
Pointing to close distance between Mazandaran and Tehran, he said that every year about 15 million local and foreign tourists visit the province.
He referred to the geographical and agricultural potential of Mazandaran, and said, "Production of about 70 kinds of fruits, various kinds of flowers and plants as well as livestock are other features of the province."
Shafaghat called on the Italian investors to invest in the Mazandaran processing industries and said development of the industry is one of important plans of the province.
The head of the Italian commercial delegation cited one of the main objectives of their visit to Mazandaran as exploring its trade capabilities.
John Carlo Marouni also described Italian-Iranian trade and cultural relations as age-old and deep rooted.
He added wood and clothes trade and production of various kinds of textiles could be proper fields for joint investments.
Stressing the active presence of Italian investors in Mazandaran, he added "Now that industrial and modern life along with religious belief is growing in Iran, we will not miss such an opportunity."
