TEHRAN, June 10 (Mehr News Agency) - Iran's agricultural jihad minister said on Sunday that the economic council has issued the wheat exports permit.
Mohammadreza Eskandari added that Iran's wheat production will go beyond 15 million tons in the current Iranian year (to end March 20, 2008), adding 12-12.3 million tons of surplus wheat will be purchased.
Given the 11 million tons of the product needed for domestic consumption, more than one million tons of surplus wheat are exported.
Iran will annually export one million tons of wheat by the end of the Fourth Five-Year Socioeconomic Development Plan, said the minister.
