TEHRAN, Jun.22 (ISNA)-The 9th edition of the international Graphic Biennial closed yesterday at Tehran's museum of Contemporary Arts. Iran's Graphic week ended with announcement of award winning artists from Iran and other countries.
Head of the 9th international Graphic Biennial, Mohammad Ehsaie delivered a short lecture at the closing ceremony.
Also the Iranian art deputy of ministry of Islamic culture and guidance who was present at the ceremony gave news of the upcoming Visual Arts international festival in Iran.
Mohammad Hussein Imani Khoshkhou said the event would take place in Iran with the presence of participants from other countries and Iranian artists in all arenas.
The closing ceremony ended with declaration of Iran winning 36 awards and leaving 6 prizes to other countries.
The "best" and the "life-long" International Council of Graphic Design Associations (ICOGRADA) awards were respectively dedicated to Iranian artists, Amir Ali Ghasemi and Farshid Mesghali.
Mesghali was honored for 35 years of endeavor and presence in Iran and world's graphic designing.
Also artists from Switzerland, Finland and Iran were the first to third winners in the international section.
Iranian Graphic Designer Association awarded the Iranian artist, Iman Motaghirad with a diploma of honor.
Also members of the jury panel, each awarded elected participants with the special jury award.
The Jury head Werner Jeker from Switzerland, awarded an artist from Germany while the Jury member Daniela Haufe from Germany gave the prize to two Portuguese artists.
The other two jury members Emre Senan from Turkey and Wang Xu from China respectively elected a Swiss and a Japanese artist for the Jury Award.
Also Iranian judges on the panel Ebrahim Haghighi, Mohammad Ehasie and Ghobad Shiva gave awards to Iranian artists Pedram Harbi, Siamak Filizadeh and Farshid Shafiee.
This year's great Morteza Momayez (founder of the biennale) Award was dedicated to Iranian artist Tahamtan Aminian for his active presence in the field of national graphic designing.
