TEHRAN, June 25 (Mehr News Agency) -- The 8th edition of the Tehran International Cartoon Biennial will concentrate on the theme of money. In a press conference held at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art on Monday, the secretary of the biennial, Masud Shojaii Tabatabaii, said that the main topic of this year's biennial will be money.
Secondary themes will be comic strips on the subject of bad luck and caricatures.
In the special section the winner will be awarded 8,000 dollars, Tabatabaii noted.
He mentioned that during the festival ten veteran cartoonists will be honored.
The curator of Tehran Museum said that jury members will include four foreigners, three Iranians, and one special guest, whose names will be announced next week.
Habibollah Sadeqi said that the biennial's catalogue will be published in a few months time, adding that the event will be held in Isfahan and Tabriz simultaneously.
The biennial will take place in Tehran at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute from December 11, 2007 until January 9, 2008. The winners will be announced on January 6 at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
