Samila Amir-Ebrahimi is a well known artist who started painting from an early age. She studied art in Paris and Oakland and has taught Art at Tehran University. Besides her painting she has done some sculptures as well.

She has had many exhibitions in Iran and abroad. Her recent exhibition at the Golestan gallery was very different from her last exhibition at Tehran Artists' Forum. There she had very large canvases very much to herself in my opinion. This time all the works were collections of many small pieces done over 30 years.

Many of them were still life and small scenes, many very interesting and some artistically wonderful. We have several of her past works but I found the prices at this exhibition a little too much for us and so we were unable to take any home with us this time. For an artist of Samira's caliber and experience it is best to let her work speak for itself.
