TEHRAN, March 10 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki mediated in a meeting between Chadian Foreign Minister Ahmad Allam-Mi and Sudanese presidential advisor Mustafa Osman Ismail in Tehran on Thursday.
Sudanese and Chadian leaders seek to reduce conflict and boost trust, Mottaki told reporters after the meeting held to help resolve the Darfur conflict and other disputes between Khartoum and N'Djamena.
It was agreed that an Iranian technical delegation would be sent to Chad and Sudan to examine regional issues, he said.
According to the Sudan Tribune, following the meeting in Tehran, Sudan and Chad agreed to normalize bilateral relations, Sudanese TV reported on Friday night.
On February 22, neighbors Sudan and Chad pledged in the Libyan capital Tripoli to redouble efforts to end border violence being fuelled by the Darfur conflict, concluding their third agreement in 12 months to end hostilities and respect each other's sovereignty.
