For the first time
ever, the City of Irvine, California will be putting up 50 Norooz banners on
Culver
Drive, a major throughway, between 5 and 405 freeways
from March 16 until April 2 to commemorate Persian New Year. This success was
the result of the hard work of selfless Iranian Americans in Orange County including Mariam Khosravani,
an Irvine City Commissioner and a community leader, Network of Iranian American Professionals of Orange
County (NIPOC), and our community artist Mr. Saeed Danosian
who designed the banners. Funding was provided by the newly formed PARSA Community
Foundation.

One of the banners
gives a glimpse of Haft Seen, the traditional Norooz display, while the other
cites ancient Persian values of Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds. We hope
Irvine paves the
way for many more cities to embrace and enjoy Norooz.
We ask our members and
friends to thanks and contribute to PARSA Foundation here, and
follow up with an email to info@parsacf.org indicating that your
contribution is designated to this cause.
