Iran's health tourism showcased in Paris Exhibition

Paris, March 17, IRNA - Iran held health tourism pavilion in the 31st Paris Exhibition on Tourism Industry which was thronged by visitors for the third day running.

According to IRAN correspondent, visitors including Iranians, living in France, expressed their satisfaction with the progress Iran has made in the field of health and medical services.

This is the first time Iran shows its medical service capabilities available to foreign nationals at a European tourism exhibition.

A number of visitors, who were Iranian doctors in Paris, told managing director of Ofogh Salamat Parsian Company Saeed Sadri hailed Iran's good medical treatment services, well-qualified physicians and competitive cost of the services and said that they would advise their patients to enjoy Iranian health services.

Sadri told IRNA that the company works to help foreign nationals get acquainted with Iran's tourism and medical services, and present series of medical treatments and tour services in the country.

Pointing to the development of health tourism in Iran as a major factor in expanding tourism industry and bringing foreign tourists to the country, he noted that according to the current figures, a foreign patient spends four times more than an ordinary tourist.

On the job-creating aspect of the health tourism industry, he said that patient tourists can bring more forex to the country.

"We try to turn Iran into a pole in the field of health tourism.

Therefore, Iranians and doctors abroad can lead their patients towards the country to enjoy its cheaper price and higher quality of medical services," he added.

"We have so far took part at some exhibitions in the Arabian states around the Persian Gulf, and we are currently introducing Iranian health tourism industry to the Europeans too."

He called for more cooperation of Iranian Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), Ministry of Health and Medical Education as well as other organizations with his company to help expand Iranian health tourism.

The 31st International Tourism Exhibition of Paris is held in the presence of more than 60 countries on March 15-22.

Iran, with 12 travel and tourism companies, is participating in the event aiming at introducing tourism attractions and health services.
