Tehran, March 28, IRNA - Minister of Information Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei said that prosecution of all those involved in the escape of the main culprit of an economic corruption case, Shahram Jazayeri-Arab, from Iran is currently underway, adding that the relevant information will be released in 8 to 10 days.
The remark was part of an interview with reporters on Tuesday evening in response to a question about Jazayeri's escape from the country.
"After Jazayeri-Arab was returned from a neighboring country and transferred to Evin prison in Tehran, Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi passed on his file to the Ministry of Information.
"Extensive measures have since been taken to identify those involved in his escape from the country," he added.
Jazayeri escaped on his way from court to prison on February 20.
He has been convicted of criminal activities including bribery, forgery and earning his wealth through illegal ways.
Concerning the successful release of three kidnapped police forces, he said that through close cooperation of Ministry of Information, Police and the country's political system it was found that the kidnappers were bandits cooperating with drug mafia.
"After the case was pursued through security channels and the Pakistani security agents were informed of the issue, they realized that the Iranian police forces taken hostage are kept in Pakistan.
"Once Pakistani officials were informed of the issue, the Iranian police forces who had been kidnapped while they were on mission were delivered to Iran," concluded the minister.
