TMCA welcomes New Year with 'Iranian Spring'

TEHRAN, May 2 (Mehr News Agency) -- Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) has begun the new Iranian year with the exhibition "Iranian Spring", which opened on May 1.

The exhibit displays paintings and typography by contemporary artists inspired by Rumi and Nima Yushij, the father of Iranian blank verse.

A total of 200 paintings by 118 artists and 33 typography works by 28 artists will be on display for about 40 days.

In addition, a conference in which university lecturers will present papers reviewing the influence of poetry on painting and vice versa is to be held on the sidelines of the exhibit from May 7 to 8.
