Winners of Hamedan Children Film Festival Announced

TEHRAN, May 5 (Mehr News Agency) -- The Iranian winners of the 21st International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults were announced in Hamedan on Friday in the presence of officials and cineastes.

Deputy Culture Minister for Cinematic Affairs Mohammadreza Jafari-Jelveh, who participated in the closing ceremony, expressed his happiness over the encouraging and enthusiastic attitude of the audiences and the provincial officials during the event. He said that the warmth with which people had welcomed the festival had made them realize how important their work was and that they must persevere in their activities for the children of the future.

Secretary of the festival Alireza Rezadad and actor Parviz Parastuii also expressed their happiness over such an important and successful event having been held in the city of Hamedan.

"Eternal Kids" by Puran Derakhshandeh won the best film award in the feature-length movie section. It also won the Audience Favorite Film award, and actor Ali Ahmadifar won the best child actor award for his role in this film.

The special prize went to Ali Sartipi, producer of "Half of Mine, Half of Yours".

Kiumars Purahmad won the best director's award for the film "The Night Bus", and Gholamreza Ramezani won the best screenwriter's award for the film "The Locksmith".

The jury's special award went to director Sirus Hassanpur for the film "Kobra's Decision".

Abdollah Alimorad's "Once a Crow" won the best short film award.

Composer Fardin Khal'atbari won the best award in the art and technical achievements section for the film "Lover", and the honorary diploma went to cinematographer Hashem Moradi for the movie "Song of Soil".

Mehrdad Sadeqian (The Night Bus), Hamed Ziaran and Melika Nazari (Cloudy Children) shared the best actor award.

"Cloudy Children" by Jamal Seyyed Hatami won the best feature-length video award, and "I Fear, So I Lie" by Tahmineh Milani won the best short video award.

The jury's special award in the feature-length video section went to Maziar Mohammadinejad for the video "Seven Colors".

This year's festival was held in Hamedan from April 30 to May 4. Previous editions of the festival have been hosted in Isfahan.
