Muscat, May 15, IRNA - Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wound up his official two-day visit to Oman and left Muscat for Tehran Tuesday. President Ahmadinejad was officially seen off by Omani Sultan Qaboos.
The Iranian president arrived in Muscat on Monday at the head of a delegation upon an official invitation of the Omani monarch.
The president was accompanied by the Presidential Advisor Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mohammad Jahromi and Oil Minister Mohammad-Kazem Vaziri Hamaneh.
While in Muscat, Ahmadinejad held talks with Omani Sultan Qaboos and attended a dinner banquet thrown by the king for him.
He also met with Iranian and Omani businessmen and Iranian nationals residing in Oman as well as officials of Iran's mission to Muscat.
He attended a press conference in Muscat and outlined Tehran-Muscat relations and key regional and international developments.
Ahmadinejad visited Oman after he wrapped up an official two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates.
He held talks with the UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan and UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum.
In Abu Dhabi, he was welcomed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan. The welcoming ceremony was unprecedented in the history of the UAE.
Ahmadinejad's UAE visit was important as no visit had ever been made by any Iranian official at such a high level since the establishment of the UAE government.
