TEHRAN, May 18 (Mehr News Agency) -- Film producer Mohammad Pirhadi has denied rumors that director Ebrahim Hatamikia is making a documentary in response to the Hollywood production '300'.
False allegations have recently appeared on personal weblogs claiming that Hatamikia is currently making a documentary of the story of the production of the film '300' and its aftermath, in order to prove that it was an anti-Iranian act of the West, Pirhadi told ISNA on Friday. "Unfortunately news agencies have treated such sources of information as reliable. We are not in fact intending to make a film responding to '300'."
It has been stated that Hatamikia has already shot a number of scenes in the National Museum of Iran, and some other Iranian museums, and that he has discussed the issue with several experts.
In clarification of these points, Pirhadi continued, "Hatamikia and I are working on a political-historical project which to a certain extent focuses on the theme of Sacred Defense. We planned the documentary two years ago, and shooting began this year in southern Iran. Some foreign location scenes will be recorded in Italy. The documentary will be completed in the summer, and it is understood that IRIB channel 2 is to air it."
