TEHRAN, May 20 (Mehr News Agency) -- The Museum of Eternal Figures opened on May 19 at the Sadabad Cultural Historical Complex in Tehran.
Several cultural figures including the Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Organization (CHTHO) Director Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaii, IRIB deputy manager Mohammad Honardust and head of the Eternal Figures Secretariat Reza Purhossein, attended the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Purhossein referred to the objectives behind the establishment of the museum saying, "This museum has been set up as a place where students can meet with scholars and professors. We realized that a cultural gap existed and we hope to bridge it by the establishment of this venue."
"Another of our aims was to provide a place where the works of 'eternal figures' can be preserved."
CHTHO director Rahim-Mashaii noted that today's world is rapidly changing and thus man needs to have the ability to analyze and make adjustments.
Mahmud As'adi, head of the museum, said that the opening of the museum has provided a suitable venue for the exchange of thoughts, a place where scholars can analyze issues and arrive at conclusions. This type of cooperation will produce influential figures who can act as expert advisors to officials.
During the ceremony, speeches were made by eternal figures Amid Zanjani and Mehdi Behzad, and the statues of several 'eternal figures' were unveiled.
