TEHRAN, May 25 (Mehr News Agency) - Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that its ambassador to Baghdad, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, will represent the country in talks with the United States on Iraq.
Diplomats from Iran and the U.S. are scheduled to meet on May 28 in Baghdad to discuss the security situation in Iraq. Washington has announced that its ambassador to Iraq, Ryan Crocker, will be negotiating partner with Iran.
"Mr. Kazemi will head the delegation but some other persons from Tehran will join him," Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini told the Mehr News Agency.
Hosseini said the latest developments in Iraq, reducing the sufferings of the Iraqi nation, supporting the Maliki government, and establishing peace and security in the country will feature in the talks.
