TEHRAN, May 27 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran absorbed 24.381 billion dollars of foreign investment from Iranian calendar year 1372 (March 21, 1993) to April 20, 2007.

Encouraged by the Law on Attraction and Protection of Foreign Investment, the total foreign investment reached 24,381,900,000 dollars.

Asian states wholly invested in 106 projects worth at 10,217,164,000 dollars while the total investment of African states equaled to 1,659,769,000 dollars.

American states had totally 1,040,344,000 dollar investment and European countries' investment amounted to 9,077,046,000 dollars.

The Pacific states invested 682 thousand dollars and multinational states 1,689,677,000 dollars.
