Tehran, Nov 4, IRNA - A group of woman representatives from Iranian Majlis left here for Germany Sunday at an official invitation by Minister of State at German Federal Foreign Office Gernot Erler.
Erler is also a member of parliament for the Social Democratic Party of Germany.
The six-member group is headed by Tehran representative at Majlis, Fatemeh Alia, who has earlier said the visit would take place in response to Erler's invitation and also for discussing ways to cement Tehran-Berlin relations in various fields.
The group is also expected to discuss major issues related to women, youth and family life with German political, parliamentary, judicial and scientific figures.
The Iranian MPs will meet with senior German parliamentarians as well as a number of deputy ministers of the country.
Prior to the group's departure to Germany, German Ambassador to Tehran, Herbert Honsowitz, attended the Iranian Majlis for a meeting with the members of the Iranian delegation.
He expressed hope that the visit would help open new horizons for promotion of bilateral ties between the two states.
