Tehran, Nov 15, IRNA - The Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Secretary Saeed Jalili said on Thursday that the new report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Mohamed ElBaradei would lead to closing the issue of P1 and P2 centrifuges.
Jalili made the remark in a press conference, noting that ElBaradei announced Iran's answers to the remaining issues are the same as IAEA findings, which indicates that the P1 and P2 dossier is closed.
Jalili, who is also Iran's top nuclear negotiator, added that according to the report, most of the ambiguities on Iranian nuclear drive are incorrect, thus, the reference of the case to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is unfounded.
Referral of Iran's nuclear case to SC was a delusive action
Jalili said that referral of Iran's nuclear case to the Security Council was a delusive action based on accusations and false facts.
He said now the baseless claims against Iran's nuclear project have come to light for international bodies.
Stressing that Iran is always ready for talks, he said there have been efforts to politicize the Iranian issue while Iran has urged since the beginning that the issue should be treated technically and legally within the International Atomic Energy Agency.
On a question about other states' proposal of formation of an enrichment consortium, Jalili said Iran welcomes new ideas. He added that Iran will act within NPT and insists on its rights and will consider positively any idea which would include these notions.
US government shuns confidence building
Jalili said that the US government is against confidence building and pursues Iran's deprivation of its rights, after the US authorities pointed to a new resolution project against Iran.
He said that for the US authorities it makes no difference whether the atomic energy agency's report was positive or not, since they do not favor confidence building, instead they try to deprive Iran of its rights.
He added that the Iranian nation has already given its answer to the US, noting that had they decided to give up its rights, it would not have carried out the Islamic revolution.
He stressed that Iran is impervious to coercion and pressure.
He said those who are after a new resolution against Iran should answer to the world community the reason why two resolutions have already been issued against Iran while every doubt has been clarified in the IAEA reports, and also why the issue has been referred to the Security Council.
Jalili said that according to the IAEA report, Iran has conducted an effective and comprehensive cooperation with the agency and can thus deal with the next issue, which by modality means that the previous issue has been resolved.
He underlined that Iran's cooperation would continue through the framework of NPT and what has been finalized within the Safeguard approach has been realized within the same context.
New resolution against Iran to affect modality plan
Issuing another resolution against Iran by the United Nations Security Council will have negative impact on the process of modality plan, the nuclear negotiator said.
Jalili added that given the new positive report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Mohamed ElBaradei, if the US seeks another resolution against Iran, it will affect cooperation on modality plan.
He further referred to the fact that ElBaradei's new report, proved the charges against the Islamic Republic of Iran are unfounded.
Responding to a question on the US stance towards the ElBaradei's report, he noted that they do not consider the facts about Iran and will continue with their hostile attitude.
