TEHRAN, Nov. 20 (Mehr News Agency) - The development plan of Kish field in southern Iran will start soon with the aim of producing one billion cubic feet of gas per day, Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDCO) managing director said on Tuesday.

Talking to MNA, Mehdi Bazargan added the cabinet will approve a plan on allocation of a proper land for the construction of a refinery that transfers the field's gas.

The refinery contract was signed with a domestic company, said the official.

The contractor is preparing the master development plan (MDP), said the PEDCO head, vowing the contractor for drilling 12 wells will soon be hired.

He added that Kish field's gas will be exported to Oman, adding an initial contract urges Iran to export five billion cubic feet of gas to the neighboring country a day.

According to the contract, the official said, Oman is obliged to make investments for the building of platforms and Iran is to offer its timetable for gas exports.
