Tehran, Nov 21, IRNA - Bahrain foreign minister by referring to President Ahmadinejad's recent trip to Bahrain said, "Tehran, Manama relations will strengthen greatly soon."
According to the report of Iran's embassy in Manama, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad al-Khalifa, in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Bahrain Hossein Amir Abdullahian on Wednesday, evaluated President Ahmadinejad's visit to Bahrain 'very successful' and called the signed agreements, especially in the field of gas, 'very important'.
The FM expressed his country's readiness to hold the meeting of high commission of cooperation between the two countries on December 26-27, 2007 in Manama.
The agreement was signed by Qatari Minister of State for Internal Affairs, Sheikh Abdallah bin Nasir Khalifa al-Thani and Iran's Interior Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi.
Based on the agreement, Tehran and Doha should cooperate in exchanging security information between the two capitals and sharing security experiences.
Other major issues stressed in the agreement include bilateral cooperation for illegal drugs campaign, prevention of piracy and avoiding illegal fishing in Iranian and Qatari waters.
