Tehran, Sept 30, IRNA - Iran's pistachio output
will show a record rise of 15 percent to stand at between 280,000 and 300,000
tons, by March 20 (marking end of the current Iranian calendar year of 1386).
Director General of the Cold Regions and Dried
Fruits Department at Ministry of Agricultural Jihad Ali Yassami said Sunday that
based on earlier estimates the production was to stand at 250,000 tons.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Yassami said export of
171,000 tons of pistachios to 78 countries in 1385 (March 21, 2006-March 20,
2007) earned the country dlrs 1.068 billion.
