Iran's scientific productions over a 10 year period amount to 27,529 indexed articles, placing the country 40th in world ranking.
"According to latest figures released by Essential Science Indicators (ESI), Iran's ranking in indexed science production has improved form 41 to 40 over a ten year period. After Turkey, Iran is the second science producer among Islamic countries," said Dr. Noroozi, Director of Science Assessment Department of Iran's scientific research strategy center.
He added that the country's indexed scientific articles had been cited 85629 over the past 10 years, also indexed scientific journals in Journal Citation Reports had increased from 3 to 6 over a one-year period.
Essential Science Indicators (ESI) is a resource that enables researchers to conduct ongoing, quantitative analyses of research performance and track trends in science. ESI covers 10 million articles in 22 fields of research, and is updated every two months.
