Iranians hold huge demonstration on Qods Day


TEHRAN, Oct. 05 (ISNA)-Hundreds of thousands of Iranians staged Qods Day demonstration in the capital and other cities to express their support for Palestinians.

The demonstrators while carrying Iran, Palestine and Lebanon's flags shouted "Down with the U.S." and "Down with Israel" and burned their flags.

Iran's president, the chief of Iran's Expediency council and many other Iranian officials were also among demonstrators.

In 1979, Imam Khomeini while naming the last Friday of Holy Ramadan "Gods Day" called Muslims and all free people to voice their will for a free Palestine all around the world.

Since then every year Muslims hold big demonstrations to show they condemn Israel for occupying Palatine which has made thousands of Palestinians to take refuge in other countries.

The key subjects on the final statement of this demonstration are as below:

1- Expressing everlasting support for Palestinians;

2- Calling for unity among Palestinians in order to prevent Israel to reach its goal;

3- Condemning political, economic, military and security blockade of Palestine;

4- Denouncing Palestine's Peace conference in November;

5- Condemning the U.S. for occupying Iraq and Afghanistan;

6- Supporting Lebanese and Hezbollah resistance group;

7- Supporting Iran's president and his government policies and measures;

8- Supporting the President's proposal in UN for founding "Peace Unity Front".
