Iranian chosen as IFIUS president
|
An Iranian has been
appointed president of the International
Federation for Interuniversity Sport (IFIUS), a non-profit organization.
Bahram Qadimi, General Director of the Physical Education Department
of the Islamic Azad University will replace the current IFIUS president, Peter
Verboven from Belgium, next year.
The General Assembly of the
federation, which takes place every October, has selected Qadimi as the new
IFIUS chairperson in Austria.
The IFIUS is a democratic non-profit
organization consisting universities worldwide. The federation is authorized by
its member universities to organize the annual World Interuniversity Games and
to defend their rights on an international interuniversity sports level.
