Tehran, Oct 17, IRNA - Deputy Foreign Minister in consulate, parliamentary affairs and Iranians residing abroad said according to the latest information, the kidnaped Japanese citizen in Iran is in good health.
According to Foreign Ministry Media Department report, Mohammad Ali Shahidi in a meeting with visiting Japanese senior Deputy Foreign Minister Itonori Onodera here on Wednesday said, "The information also says that the kidnaped person is still in Iran."
He told the Japanese senior diplomat that Foreign Ministry along with Interior Ministry and Police Forces started their work to release the Japanese citizen as soon as they were informed about the event.
Shahidi expressed hope that with efforts of the related government bodies the kidnapped person can be released soon.
The Japanese deputy foreign minister, for his part, appreciated Iranian officials for their effort to release the Japanese citizen.
A Japanese citizen named Kyoto Hasegawl, 23, was kidnapped last week by armed bandits in the southeastern province of Kerman.
