More Info:
Oakland Citycouncilwomen Jane Brunner and Nancy Nadel will be introducing a
resolution condemning US efforts to bomb Iran and interfere in Iran's internal
affairs. The vote will be Tues, Nov. 6, 6pm. It's critical that a large
number of Iranian Americans and peace activists attend this meeting to show
support for the resolution. Please spread the word. The vote should be completed
by about 7 or 7:15pm. The Agenda for the November 6th meeting will be posted
on-line on Friday, October 26. You can access the Agenda here.
Just click on the text in the “November 6” calendar square, and you will
be directed to the full Agenda. Then just scroll down to find the Iran
Resolution.
If you
would like to sign up to speak in support of the Resolution, you may sign up on-line.
Rally for peace
with Iran: If there is organizing support for a rally, we can coordinate
to have a presence outside the city hall. What we need help
with:
- Someone to get a
permit from Oakland police
- Sound system (can
likely borrow from SF anti-war organizers)
- Speakers and
performance
- Press release and
help making press calls (we can email to our press list)
- Signs and
banners—our CODEPINK office in the Mission District in SF has materials, if
people want to come over and paint or draw signs.
Please reply to rae@codepinkalert.org if you can help organize the rally, plan to
attend the meeting, or have other ideas.
