Tehran, Oct 29, IRNA - Iran Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Javad Vaeedi and visiting Deputy IAEA Chief for Safeguards Olli Heinonen began a new round of talks on P1 and P2 centrifuges on Monday.
The talks are being held within the framework of an agreement signed by officials from Iran and those of the International Atomic Energy Agency in August and is likely to continue until Wednesday.
The first round of Vaeedi-Heinonen talks on P1 and P2 centrifuges was held in Tehran on October 9-11.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization for International Affairs Mohammad Saeedi hoped that Iran and the IAEA would finalize the issue of P1 and P2 centrifuges in this round of negotiations.
Saeedi made the remark while talking to reporters at Mehrabad International Airport following the arrival in Tehran of Deputy Chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for Safeguards Olli Heinonen.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Tehran, Heinonen expressed hope that he would hold "constructive" talks with Iranian officials in Tehran on P1 and P2 centrifuges.
He also hoped that the negotiating sides would attain their objectives in this round of talks.
The result of Vaeedi-Heinonen talks would appear in a report by the agency's Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei, to be released in November
