Tehran, Sept 13, IRNA - Iranian discus throwers won two gold and one silver medals on Thursday on the first day of international parlympic games in Taiwan.
In Class F58 Iranian sportsman Habibollah Fadarloo clinched the gold medal with a throw of 48.59m followed by another Iranian Alireza Kamali-Fard who won silver with his 47.83m throw.
Iranian athlete Javid Ehesani-Shakib snatched gold with a throw of 39.08m in Class F57 while another Iranian Mahdi Moradi's 39.01m throw brought him silver medal and an athlete from Ireland stood in the third place.
In womens' discus throw Fatemeh Montazeri won silver medal defeated by her German rival and the bronze medal went to an Irish athlete.
The swimming competitions will start on Friday in which Iranian swimmers will be present in different categories.
The current games in Taiwan are a preliminary stage of International 2008 paralymics in Beijing.
