TEHRAN, Sept. 17 (Mehr News Agency) - Hamid Surian from Iran took the glittering gold at the 55kg event of the world Greco-Roman wrestling bouts in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, Monday.
The Iranian grabbed the coveted gold for the third consecutive time with a victory over his rival from South Korea in the final showdown.
Surian qualified for the Olympic Games in the Chinese capital Beijing.
The team snatched 28 medals, including 13 golds, 7 silvers, and 8 bronzes.
In the youth event, Iran lifted the trophy with an asset of 8 gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
