France's Kouchner: "I aimed to prevent warmongering measures"

Tehran, Sept 21, IRNA - France Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner confered with Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani by phone late Thursday night and said he was sorry that his statement was wrongly published in media.

Kouchner added, "I aimed to prevent warmongering measures." The French foreign minister supported constructive measures and talks of Larijani and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Muhammad ElBaradei concerning Iran's nuclear dossier and said, "I believe ElBaradei should visit Tehran and support his measures with close cooperation with Iran."

Responding to Larijani's complain about parts of his statements in media, Kouchner said, "It should not cause any misunderstanding which others can take advantage of."

The French senior diplomat also expressed his interest to visit Tehran soon.
