Qazvin, April 4, IRNA -- The 3rd International Tournament of Iran's Free RoboCup 2008 started its work here on Thursday April 3. 1653 foreign and domestic participants are attending the competitions.

Iran capable to hold world RoboCup tournament

Deputy head of World Federation of RoboCup said in Qazvin Friday that Iran is capable to hold world RoboCup tournament.

Professor Hans Dieter Buhard said, "There is no doubt in this concern and considering the Iranian officials abilities in holding current tournament, there would be no obstacles in Iran's hosting the world RoboCup tournament."

About possible competition between Robot football players and the world football stars in the year 2050, the official said, "If you had asked me the question 10 years ago, I would have answered there is a long way to reach the goal, but now, I can tell you it is feasible before the year 2050."

Buhard evaluated Iran's 3rd Free RoboCup Tournament "worthy and remarkable".
