Bakhtiari prov, April 6, IRNA -- Sima Sediq, an American university professor,
hailed on Sunday the way members of Iran's Bakhtiari nomadic tribes continue
their education while moving from one place to another.
Sediq who is the head of the US Sacred Heart University's education department,
announced the above in an interview with IRNA while visiting a number of the
Bakhtiari tribes in this western province.
Bakhtiari tribe is the second largest nomadic tribe of Iran with some 123,000
members.
"American
students are surprised by perseverance of Iranian tent-dwellers in continuing
their education despite being on seasonal move from one place to another," Sediq
added.
She said she was also surprised by the high growth of education rate among
Bakhtiari nomadic tribes which has raised from five percent to 75 during the
past years.
Since 2002, Sediq has conducted a study about education of members of Iran's
