Qofrani said that the survival of digging industry in Iran depends on discovery of and getting access to new oil fields, arguing, "Oil resources within the countries' oil fields are doomed to end and in order to keep the oil and gas digging industry in a blossoming status it is necessary to discover new fields."
He said that "correcting the maps of the country's subterranean curves" and geological findings as well as computerized planning of the country's oil resources were among the other conducted plans of the RCOC during the past year adding, "Two and three dimensional seismography of the country's new gas fields, such as those in Kouhmand, Aqar, and Shogoun regions would begin in the course of this year."
The technical director of RCOC reiterated, "Preservation of country's national wealth is not restricted to subterranean resources, since it includes the resources above earth and among the most important programs of the RCOC during the course of the current year here is evaluation of the country's oil and gas storage tanks and facilities."
Qofrani said that the future plans of RCOC would be mainly focused on expansion of new oil and gas fields in Shakheh, Aban, Azar, Kouh Reeg, Zireh and Namak Qarbi fields, concluding, "By the year 2011, relying on development and putting to use of RCOC's new oil and gas fields, this company's oil production capacity would increase to 500,000 barrels and its gas production to 400 million cubic meters.
