Shalamcheh border crossing in southwest Iran
Press TV -- The Iran-Iraq Shalamcheh border
crossing reopens to pilgrims of Shia holy sites, an Iranian official at the
country's southwest border says.
Mohammad Mojaveri, Khorramshahr governor's representative for the crossing, noted that pilgrims may visit the holy sites in both countries during working hours.
However, he pointed out that passage of trucks carrying goods is forbidden due to tight security measures in Iraq's Basra province.
Shalamcheh border crossing was closed on March 26 following the crackdown on Basra and instability in the southern regions of Iraq.
